Laurie Schneider - Embodied Pilates Studio

Meet Laurie Schneider

“For me, moving freely, strongly, and without pain, has been the incredible gift Pilates has given me over many years. Now, in our beautiful Embodied Pilates Studio, I hope I get to give the same gift to you.”

“I started out over 20 years ago as a dancer, and since then I’ve worked as a movement medicine practitioner, dancer, artist, choreographer and performer.

“I graduated with my Diploma in Professional Dance Training from the College of Dance, Dublin, and continued my studies with a BA (Hons) in Dance from the University of Northumbria. I then went on to establish expanDance with my colleague Rachel Wynne (USA) in 2006, and ever since I’ve continued to learn.

“It was through dance, that I first began to realise the incredible benefits of Pilates. I saw its ability to assist in healing and preventing injuries. I saw its ability to support the longevity of dancers, so that they could continue creating and performing. And I also saw that Pilates is for everyone.

“That’s why I believe in continuing to train, and today I am a fully certified Stott Pilates instructor, an Xtend Ballet Barre instructor, and a certified Polestar Pilates Comprehensive Instructor.

“I’ve also trained in Osteoporosis, Pre and Post-natal, Women's health (perimenopausal and menopausal) specific Pilates exercises, and like Louise, most recently in Slings Myofascial movement via the Art of Motion.

“As a result of the extensive training undertaken by Louise and myself, we have been able to bring the full range of Pilates apparatus to our beautiful Embodies Pilates Studio.

“Over the years I have seen the incredible benefits of Pilates. I have seen the power of incremental change, so I am so excited to get to now work with you on the Reformer, the Cadillac, Chairs, and Barrels, and in so many more exciting ways.

“Pilates has transformed and strengthened my body and now I get to do the same for you.”
